How we measure
Lay a garment that fits you well flat and compare
- Chest width
- Straight across the front, from armpit to armpit, with the jacket buttoned.
- Waist width
- Straight across the front at the narrowest point, usually at the button.
- Shoulder width
- From one shoulder seam to the other, across the back.
- Sleeve length
- From the shoulder seam to the end of the cuff.
- Jacket length
- From the base of the collar at the back down to the hem.
- Trouser waist width
- Straight across the waistband with the trousers closed.
- Inside leg
- From the crotch seam down to the hem, along the inner leg.
- Upper leg width
- Straight across the leg, just below the crotch.
- Foot opening width
- Straight across the hem of one leg.
Widths are measured across one side of the garment. Double them for the full circumference.
